Chatbots - A Revolution in Service?
Mark Zuckerberg introduced the bot developer platform for Facebook Messenger at the F8 conference in April 2016. From there, the number of available bots exploded from 11,000 to 100,000 in less than a year – an almost tenfold increase. The topic has since found its way onto the agenda of almost every service trade fair and conference and into many specialist articles. But has 2017 already become the year of the chatbots?
But how do companies view the technology? Will chatbots become established, or are they primarily a manufacturer-driven fad? What objectives are companies pursuing when they employ chatbots, and what requirement do they have of such a solution?
These and other questions form the basis of this study.
